The Trailer Park – Comic Book Special

Welcome to the trailer park, take a seat at the far end on my pull-out bed. Don’t look in that drawer next to you or you’ll never be able to look at me the same way again. OK we can begin. This edition focusses on trailers for the latest round of movies based on comic books. So lets see what we’ve got.

I mean it, stay out of the damn drawer!!!

X-Men Apocalypse

Brian Singer’s new superhero film lays its cards out on the table from the start by introducing us to new characters like Jean Grey (Sophie Turner) and Cyclops (Tye Sheridan). It’s a quality trailer but isn’t fantastic. Apocalypse is slightly underwhelming however his horsemen look very cool especially Storm although the clip doesn’t contain enough Psylocke (google her, you’ll thank me). The big reveal at the end of the trailer is DUN! DUN DUN! ….. James McAvoy is a baldy!

Rating – Not very X-citing

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows

I’m as surprised as you are that there’s already a sequel to the mediocre TMNT reboot. The Turtles still look like the Battle Toads pumped full of steroids but this time they cruise around in an upgraded Turtle-Van. Megan Fox and Will Arnett return but with help from Arrow’s Stephen Amell as Casey Jones. Fans of the old cartoons may experience a nostalgia-gasm when Be-Bop and Rocksteady make an appearance.

Rating – COWABUNGA!

Captain America: Civil War

This is more like it! A trailer that sets the scene and showcases some brilliant looking action including Cap and Bucky beating the dung out of Iron Man. My only concern is that there appears to be about twelve million characters so there’s the fear it could repeat the mess that was Avengers: Age of Ultron. And I still maintain that Falcon is a rubbish character.

Rating – Marvel-ous!

What do you think of these trailers? Are you excited about Be-Bop and Rocksteady or just Megan Fox in a super-tight shirt? Who will you be rooting for in the Marvel Civil War? Let me know in the comments below!

  1. I am a big fan of super hero movies so X-Men and Captain America seem like yesses to me. As for TMNT, I was not thrilled about the first one so not sure if I would watch the sequel. I would rather go back and watch the old ones any day!
